Abstract
This study aims to analyze the implementation of Qur’an-based Multiple Intelligences (MI) learning at the Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) level, with a case study at MTSS Nurul Huda in South Tangerang. The MI approach introduced by Howard Gardner offers a pedagogical framework that acknowledges the diversity of student potentials, such as linguistic, logical-mathematical, musical, kinesthetic, interpersonal, intrapersonal, spatial, naturalist, and existential intelligences. Integrating this approach with Qur’anic values provides a spiritual dimension that enriches the learning process holistically. This research employs a qualitative approach using a case study method, with data collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with teachers and school leaders, and documentation studies of learning activities. The findings reveal that Qur’an-based MI learning enhances student engagement, strengthens character, and fosters balanced academic and spiritual achievement. Supporting factors include the institution's Qur’anic vision, teacher commitment, and curriculum flexibility. Meanwhile, challenges include the complexity of integrating MI into the curriculum, difficulties in intelligence-based assessment, and public perceptions that merely fixated on cognitive scores alone. This study underscores the urgency of adopting a Qur’an-based MI approach as a transformative, contextual model of Islamic education that focuses on the holistic development of human potential.
