This can be seen from the position of Indonesia, which is ranked seventh in the world. The factors of customs and culture cannot be separated from the reason for the high number. Law Number 16 of 2019 has set Indonesia’s legal marriage age limit. In addition, the Qur'an is an authentic law for Muslims who regulate this marriage issue; its several verses are understood to support child marriage, which is known to be against the law. This article looks at the socio-historical side behind the verses that indicate child marriage and examines the possible implications of that side for legal stipulations in Indonesia that have changed from the previous stipulation, namely Law No. 1 of 1974. With a socio-historical approach to the Qur’an, this article generates the perception that the culture in Arabia at that time influenced the content of the verse indicating child marriage, so to establish the law of child marriage in family law in Indonesia it is necessary to review the local culture as well as the global cultural context that views child marriage as problematic when viewed from various perspectives.
Muhammad Fiqih Cholidi Safiya Fadlulah Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Bimas Islam https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2025-12-30 2025-12-30 18 2 317 344 Pendekatan Politik dalam Ibadah Zakat: Peran Negara dalam Pengelolaan Zakat dari Perspektif Islam Klasik hingga Indonesia Kontemporer https://jurnalbimasislam.kemenag.go.id/jbi/article/view/1677
Zakat is one of the fundamental pillars of Islam that plays a vital role in shaping a just and prosperous society. Beyond its spiritual significance, zakat serves as a socio-economic mechanism aimed at eradicating poverty and reducing inequality. Historically, zakat has been systematically managed under state authority, beginning from the time of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and the Khulafa al-Rashidun. This study explores zakat from a political approach by examining its relationship with Islamic governance and state policy. Using a descriptive-qualitative method and literature review, this paper analyzes classical and contemporary Islamic sources to understand how zakat functions within a political framework. The findings suggest that zakat is not only a personal religious obligation but also has the potential to serve as a public policy instrument when institutionalized by the state. A political approach to zakat highlights that Islam does not separate moral values from governance; instead, it offers a comprehensive system that integrates ethical wealth distribution with state responsibility. Therefore, linking zakat with political authority is crucial for realizing the objectives of Sharia in addressing modern socio-economic challenges. Through such integration, zakat can contribute significantly to the development of a more equitable, ethical, and welfare-oriented society.
Ahmad Juraidi Sitti Nur Sapiah Husnah Maman Saepulloh Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Bimas Islam https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2025-12-30 2025-12-30 18 2 345 376 Sertifikasi Amil Zakat sebagai Instrumen Penguatan Dakwah Struktural https://jurnalbimasislam.kemenag.go.id/jbi/article/view/1680
The professional certification program for amil zakat, initiated by the Ministry
of Religious Affairs in collaboration with the Professional Certification Body
(LSP) of BAZNAS RI, represents a strategic effort to strengthen Islamic
philanthropic da‘wah through enhanced professionalism and standardized competencies. This study examines how the certification program transforms the role of amils as agents of social da‘wah, and how collaboration between the state and professional institutions shapes a model for institutional strengthening within the zakat sector that affects the quality of public services. Employing a qualitative-descriptive approach and case studies conducted at three implementation sites (two in Jakarta and one in Semarang), this study finds that certification not only improves the technical capacity of amil in fundraising, management, and zakat reporting but also reinforces the public image of zakat institutions as accountable and modern entities. These findings affirm that competency standardization through amil zakat certification functions as an instrument of structural da‘wah, contributing to advancing national zakat governance and supporting the broader ecosystem of Islamic philanthropy in the development of Islamic civilization.
Muhammad Choirin Muhibbudin Moch Karya Nugraha Yuyun Nurul Faatihah Imam Afriadi Ramadan Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Bimas Islam https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2025-12-30 2025-12-30 18 2 377 404 Kedudukan Perempuan dan Konsep Qira’ah Mubadalah Terhadap Peranan Isteri Dalam Ketahanan Ekonomi Rumah Tangga https://jurnalbimasislam.kemenag.go.id/jbi/article/view/1020
This article discusses the position of women and the concept of qira'ah mubis on the role of wives in achieving household economic stability, both the role of wives who help earn a living and wives as housewives, where this study aims to create a harmonious family while still fulfilling the rights of wives who should be breadwinners but can still contribute to controlling the household economy. However, waqf management is often colored by various problems, such as document manipulation, data inconsistencies, and abuse of trust by nadzir. This study analyzes manipulation cases in waqf management in Ciporos Village, Cilacap Regency, Central Java. With a qualitative approach and case study method, data is collected through in-depth interviews, document analysis, and literature studies. The results of the study showed that the nadzir committed violations, including creating waqf letters without muwaqif permission, changing the purpose of waqf, and administrative negligence. The impact of this deviation includes the loss of public trust, the failure to achieve the goals of waqf, as well as social and legal conflicts. This case reflects the weak supervision, education, and implementation of regulations related to waqf in Indonesia. This study recommends strengthening regulations, implementing strict supervision, education to muwakif, digitizing administration, and strict sanctions against violating nadzir. With this effort, it is hoped that waqf management can be more transparent, and accountable, and provide optimal benefits for the community
Tri Yugo Yugo Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Bimas Islam https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2025-12-30 2025-12-30 18 2 435 472 Majelis Taklim Muslimat NU: Pembelajaran Sepanjang Hayat Berbasis Kearifan Lokal https://jurnalbimasislam.kemenag.go.id/jbi/article/view/1666
Lifelong Learning is a necessity in modern society but is often dominated by the paradigm of formal Western education. This study offers a counter-narrative by analyzing Majelis Taklim Muslimat NU (specifically, the Association of Female Preachers and Majelis Taklim/HIDMAT) as an authentic and effective non-formal learning ecosystem. The central research question is: How does the synthesis between the principles of andragogy and NU's cultural-religious values shape an effective lifelong learning model within Majelis Taklim Muslimat NU? Using a descriptive analysis method with data sourced from documents, observations, and interviews with HIDMAT Muslimat NU Center officials, the study borrows from the framework of Malcolm Knowles' andragogy (learner-centered, self-directed, utilizing experience) and Islamic educational philosophy (such as Al-Attas' al-Ta'dib and KH. Hasyim Asy'ari's principle of al-muhāfazhatu ‘alā al-qadīmi al-sālih wa al-akhdzu bi al-jadīdi al-aslah—preserving good traditions while adopting better innovations). The results indicate that Majelis Taklim Muslimat NU has successfully established a Transformational Learning Community. This model is characterized by: (1) a Learner-Centered and Egalitarian Learning Ecosystem, where the adaptive curriculum responds to the practical needs of adult women (problem-centered learning). (2) A Contextual Approach integrating kitab kuning (traditional knowledge transmission) with contemporary issues (digital literacy, mental health, economics, law) through hybrid learning (physical and virtual). (3) Holistic Education that operationalizes the principles of al-Ta'dib and tazkiyat al-nafs, transforming members from private piety to public piety through economic empowerment programs and social advocacy. In conclusion, Majelis Taklim Muslimat NU successfully synthesizes modern andragogical principles with Ahlussunnah wal Jamaah values and local wisdom, creating an acculturated, sustainable, and transformative lifelong learning model. This institution not only enhances religious literacy but also strengthens women's social capital and agency, positioning it as a commendable model for non-formal Islamic education globally, aligning with SDG goals for quality education and gender equality.
Sururin Sururin Muhammad Muslim Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Bimas Islam https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 2025-12-30 2025-12-30 18 2 473 502 Tafsir Haraki Moderat: Kajian atas Tafsīr Āyāt Yā Ayyuhā al-Nās Karya Syeikh Abdul Latif Syakur 1882-1963 M https://jurnalbimasislam.kemenag.go.id/jbi/article/view/1669
This study aims to prove that the Tafsir Āyāt Yā Ayyuhā al-Nās written by the Indonesian interpreter, Sheikh Abd Latif Syakur, is moderately haraki. This interpretation emphasizes that anti-colonialism does not mean hatred or war against non-Muslims. This is a qualitative study which the author employed literature and documentation techniques in the data collection. This research is descriptive-analytical in nature, seeking to provide an overview and in-depth exploration of Syakur’s views and approach in explaining his interpretation. The author also employes a comparative approach, comparing Syakur’s views and approach with other haraki interpretations to identify similarities, differences, and influences. This study concludes that Syakur’s interpretation is moderately haraki. The study also rejects the conclusion that haraki interpretations inspire radicals and extremists, a view proposed by Aniq, M. Sayyid Quṭb. The data source for this research is the interpretation of Abd Latif Syakur from his work entitled Tafsīr Āyāt Yā Ayyuhā al-Nās.
