Abstract
Calendar is a counting time system based on nature phenomenon. The Hijriyyah calendar is the Muslims calendar based on the Moon’s synodic cycle surrounds the Earth basically it is civil calendar which was formulated by the Caliph Umar bin Khatab. However, the Hijriyyah calendar formulation still follows the provisions outlined by the Prophet Muhammad SAW and the habit dating commonly known by the people society at that time. As time goes by, the Hijriyyah calendar counting is very dependent on the calendar date. It can be seen from the astronomical data that always accompanies with Hijriyyah calendar counting based on Masehi calendar. This paper tries to explain the thoughts and Hijriyyah calendar independence concepts which is based on one of the Hijriyyah calendar counting concepts as 29th criteria.
