This paper presents the study results of the NÅ«r al-á¹¢alÄh book by Tengku Muhammad Saleh (1901-1966), a Moslem scholar in Lingga Island, Riau Islands. Through intertextual study of that book and several other opuses, this paper proves that the fiqh books writing in the Malay-Indonesian region, especially in Lingga Island and its surroundings, it is not much different from the fiqh books writing in other Malay regions, which are more dominant in using fiqh books references written by Malay Moslem scholars and written using Malay. This is done so that the books are easily understood and impregnated by Malay readers. However, more than just a translation effort, the author makes an effort to instill an understanding and value which is in a sociological perspective known as internalization. When trying to internalize the values prayer spirit, Tengku Muhammad Saleh did several things: first, writing using Malay. Second, translating reading texts when praying into Malay, every word and /or phrase. Third, completing with an theosophy explanation behind every movement, reading or a certain amount of movement when praying. When explaining the importance of prayer, TMS built the argument that prayer is a form of gratitude to Allah.
