Mahar dalam Pernikahan Adat Bugis Ditinjau dari Perspektif Hukum Islam

Bugis society has a marriage tradition established by hereditary. Bugis customs about marriage is divided into five (five) stages, namely Mabbaja laleng, Mappesek-pesek, Mammanu-manu, Madduta, and Mappasiarekeng. Although the marriage stages of Bugis customs based on ancestral heritage, but this is not contrary to Islamic law. Mahar in a Bugis customary marriage is a very important thing to accomplish, this is in line with the Islamic law provisions that puts the dowry as an obligation for the husband to pay in accordance with the level or one's ability level.
Masyarakat Bugis memiliki tradisi pernikahan yang ditetapan secara turun temurun. Adat Bugis tentang pernikahan terbagi kedalam lima (lima) tahap, yaitu Mabbaja laleng, Mappesek-pesek, Mammanu-manu, Madduta, dan Mappasiarekeng. Meski tahapan pernikahan adat Bugis ditetapkan berdasarkan warisan leluhur, namun hal ini tidak bertentangan dengan hukum Islam. Mahar dalam pernikahan adat bugis merupakan suatu hal yang sangat penting untuk ditunaikan, hal ini sejalan dengan ketentuan hokum Islam yang menempatkan mahar sebagai suatu kewajiban bagi suami untuk membayarnya sesuai dengan kadar atau tingkat kemampuan seseorang
